Arizona Registrar of Contractors Complaint Expert

Established in 1931, the Registrar of Contractors (AZ ROC) licenses and regulates over 45,000 residential and commercial contractors. AZ ROC staff investigate and work to resolve complaints against licensed contractors and unlicensed entities.

A construction expert can assist owners or contractors in navigating the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (AZ ROC) complaint process.

The Arizona Registrar of Contractors Compliance Department investigates alleged violations of licensed and unlicensed contracting laws. For new construction, complaints against licensed contractors must be filed within two years from the close of escrow or actual occupancy, whichever occurred first. For remodel or repairs, complaints against licensed contractors must be filed within two years from the date work was last performed. https://roc.az.gov/file-complaint

Similar to filing a lawsuit, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors complaint form must include a detailed description of each alleged deficiencies with a detailed and itemized list that describes each alleged deficiency, the location that each alleged deficiency has been observed by the owner, and sufficient evidence to support the claim. Such evidence would include the contract for the work, project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation instructions.

A construction expert can assist an owner in preparing the complaint and demonstrating the deficiencies to the AZ ROC investigator. A construction expert can also assist a contractor in defending against frivolous complaints.
